New board officers elected at Mass Insight Education & Research

BOSTON – July 21, 2021 – The board of Mass Insight Education & Research (Mi) recently elected Gary Evee, founder and chief executive officer of Evee Security Consulting Group, to the position of board Chair. Evee joined the board in 2019 and served as Mass Insight’s Vice Chair over the past year, helping to steer the Boston-based nonprofit successfully through the global pandemic.

A graduate of Hampton University, Gary has deep Boston roots and is a BPS – Boston Latin Academy – graduate. Prior to founding Evee Consulting, Gary held several executive roles at IBM. “I am grateful for the opportunity to be the new chair of Mass Insight’s Board of Directors.  I am passionate about Mass Insight’s mission to advance educational equity so that all students are prepared to reach their academic and personal potential. As we’ve seen throughout the pandemic, it’s crucial that we redouble our efforts to close the opportunity gap for systemically marginalized students. I’m excited to take on the role of Chair and look forward to leading the organization into its 25th anniversary in the coming year,” said Evee.  

Dick Taggart of State Street Corporation, who was elected Chair in 2016, will continue to serve on the Mi board during the 2021-2022 school year.  

“It was a pleasure to work with Gary this past year as we prepared for this transition,” said Taggart. “The organization is in very capable hands with Gary in this role.” 

Also elected to officer positions were Jeff Davis of EY, who will serve another term as Treasurer, and Paula Nassif of Wolters Kluwer Health, who will serve as Clerk.  Paula is a graduate of Latinos for Education’s Board Fellowship program.   

In addition to those previously mentioned, the board of directors includes David Adams of the College Board, Cecilia Frerotte of Wolf & Company, Dr. Beth Gamse of Gamse Partnership, Ernesto Gonzalez of RA Capital, Kamau Hixon of Prudential Private Capital, Chris Horan of Horan Communications, Fran Kelly of CEOVIEW Branding, and Jill Norton of Clark Street Consulting. Dr. Susan F. Lusi, Mass Insight’s President & CEO, is an ex officio member.
