2013 will bring a new turnaround strategy to the Jefferson Parish Public School System in Louisiana. Late last month, the school board agreed to turn around a network of 8 – 10 low-performing schools in the district.
The purpose the strategy is to create a turnaround network within the district as a whole. Superintendent James Meza plans for the new zone to focus on career readiness, while teachers and principals will receive increased training and professional development.
