Senate Budget Retains Level SIG Funding

Great wrap-up by Ed Week’s Alyson Klein of yesterday’s Senate appropriations subcommittee vote on the FY2013 federal education budget, which would keep SIG funds level at $534 million and make 5% of Title II funds for teacher and leadership development competitive. We were one of about 50 groups urging Congress to set aside 25% for competitive grants.

Full Senate committee scheduled to weigh in Thursday. No action yet in House.
