Favorite thing about teaching AP: I love being able to incorporate service learning into the curriculum so that students can not only apply their knowledge, but also make a positive impact in their community.

Fun fact: My first “job” teaching Environmental Science was in Senegal, West Africa – as a Peace Corps Volunteer!

Favorite thing about teaching AP: I love the students that I get to work with in my AP classes. They are so driven and genuinely excited about the topic that it makes me excited to facilitate their learning of it.

Fun fact: I had my first child last May two weeks after the AP exam and am an avid runner.

Favorite thing about teaching AP: I enjoy teaching about the environment in which students live to help them understand human impact on it. I love to see students make connections between what they are learning to their own lives where they feel empowered and hopeful for the future.

Fun fact: My husband and I both have a twin sister.

Favorite thing about teaching AP: Building strong relationships with students who have a passion for science. They always intrigue me with new questions or interesting facts – I am always learning something new with them!

Fun fact: I got married last July and two of my former AP students looked me up on The Knot and crashed my wedding ceremony!
