Director of Development

Position title: Director of Development, Mass Insight Education

Mass Insight Education is seeking candidates for Director of Development. The Director of Development will establish and direct fund raising targeted at corporations and individuals. The program has two related objectives:

• Assuring the long term private financing required to sustain our education initiatives.

• Expanding private sector leadership commitment to the effort by increasing corporate and individual program support.

Primary responsibilities include:

  1. The Director will be responsible for creating and maintaining a multi-tiered $2 million annual corporate and individual development campaign to achieve these objectives, building and maintaining strategic partnerships among corporate leaders, corporate foundations, and individuals.

  2. Success in converting identified corporations and their individual leaders into major, visible and active program and student supporters is the immediate performance metric. Ultimately, the annual and long term financial sustainability of the program and the success of the students are the outcomes measured.

Duties Include:

• Identify and secure corporate and individual partners to support Mass Insight’s education programs.

• Use our database of partners and funders and oversee its effective use.

• Work closely to engage partners and prospects with the Commonwealth Campaign for Excellence and assure funders and partners receive regular, timely communications and information about our programs.

Skills and experience required:

• Exceptional writing skills

• Excellent organizational skills

• Strong verbal communication and presentation skills

• High level of comfort interacting with corporate executives.

• Solid closing ability

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree with a Master’s preferred, and at least five years of successful experience in corporate development, corporate relations, or related private sector experience.
